Inheritance by Breathe-a-little Inheritance by Breathe-a-little
I wanted to try doing a piece with mixed media. I drew Eli at 3 am last night, then I drew Sally while I was at school today, and taped the pieces of paper together. When I got home I water colored it which produced this-

I then colored it with markers, shaded with some colored pencil , and had fun with white out and a white gel pen. This was a test to try to see what worked what didn't, exc. I would really appreciate crit whether goo or bad (on the picture, not my obvious stylistic choices like ear fluff or eye size).

Also, it should be obvious, but this isn't shipping art. :I

Acorn kids are adorbs.

Sally + Eli (c) Archie + Sega even though they don't deserve either.

Title was donated by the lovely Gouf (who doesn't have a DA account? )

Edit- Fixed the line where the paper over laps. Thanks Fall<3

Ah, this is so nice... The background really gives it a neat effect.
For whatever reason, I like the red drips through Elias, but not the blue ones through Sally. Maybe because of their warm fur colours? But that's not something you can just go in and erase, so I don't think it needs worrying about. :)

I think because their so much more obvious? I don't know, and Eli's dripped better, but that's something I don't like about this painting too Fade. It could also be their warm fur colors. It's something to remember for later along with less paint (as suggested by Fox).

I know I've seen some tricks before, for keeping paint off of areas you don't want it on... there's liquid rubber you can buy, and I think masking tape also works? If that's something you want to try again in the future!

I did want drips, but not like that. I dunno, I'm not too worried about it, and I have tried masking tape, but it rips up the kind of paper I was using when it get wet. And There is liquid rubber! I just will have to find some at a store near by.

Darn, I hate when masking tape does that! Ah well, I hope you can find some of that liquid rubber... I can't remember the brand name I'm familiar with, but it's common in art supply stores. Anywhere that carries watercolours should have it!

I was considering trying white out, then scraping it off.
